About the Program
2008 marks the third year Duracell and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) have joined forces for the Power of Parents program. The program launched in 2006 by reminding parents and guardians to keep an updated photo of their child; the second year provided a free downloadable children’s book and age-appropriate teaching tips. This year leads up to 25 years of service by NCMEC who has joined forces with Duracell once again, to remind parents/guardians the value of having conversations with their children about safety while also recognizing the role technology plays in keeping children safer.
Duracell and NCMEC created the Child Safety Handbook that provides age-appropriate tips and strategies for child safety, while also spotlighting advances in technology that can help parents and guardians when it comes to keeping their children safer.
